A

Assembly Areas

Designated place or places where people assemble during the course of an evacuation

Bomb threat

A threat, written or verbal, delivered by electronic, oral, or other medium, threatening to place or use an explosive, chemical, biological, or radiological device at a time, date, place or against a specific person or organization. It is not necessary for any other action to be taken by the offender.

Chief Warden

Person with internal responsibilities of managing response to an an emergency

Drill

A site-specific exercise implemented to determine the effectiveness of the emergency response procedures

ECO

Emergency control organization

A person or persons appointed by the emergency planning committee to direct and control the implementation of the facility's emergency response procedures  Ie Chief Wardens, Area Wardens, Wardens

ECO

A person or persons appointed by the emergency planning committee to direct and control the implementation of the facility's emergency response procedures

Emergency Liaison Officer

Someone who knows the venue and is dedicated to making sure that we are in optimal contact with the emergency services.


Emergency Operations Centre (EOC)

An area established to control, communicate and coordinate an emergency, and liaise with the Emergency Services

Ideally you would like to view the crowd and areas of high risk within the venue either via windows or monitoring devices or ideally both.

Emergency planning committee

Emergency planning committee (EPC)
Persons responsible for the documentation and maintenance of an emergency plan, including allocation of response responsibilities and training and drills.

Emergency response equipment

This includes fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, fire blankets, first aid kits, Defibrillators, spill clean-up kits, breathing apparatus, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, smoke doors, smoke curtains, monitoring devices, alarms and the like.
